Oakland Avenue Construction

The Village of Shorewood is reconstructing Oakland Avenue between Capitol Drive and Glendale Avenue. Construction began in February and will be completed in December 2026.

Northbound and southbound traffic is scheduled to shift to the west side of Oakland Avenue between Wood Place and Glendale Avenue.

Motorists should be aware of changing traffic patterns around removed curb extensions

Long-Term Closures

Beginning Monday, February 9, access to and from Oakland Avenue from the east will be closed at:

Kenmore Place
Jarvis Street
Wood Place
Olive Street
Marion Street
Lake Bluff Boulevard
Kensington Boulevard
