Oakland Avenue Reconstruction

The Village of Shorewood is reconstructing Oakland Avenue between Capitol Drive and Glendale Avenue. Construction began in February and will be completed in December 2026.

Traffic and Utility Impacts

Week of April 13

  • Access to and from Glendale Avenue from the east is closed until mid-summer
  • Water main connection work at intersections is continuing
    • Short-term crosswalk closures may occur. Detours will be posted
    • Two to four-hour water service shut-offs are planned for this work
    • The contractor will notify affected property owners and businesses

Night Work Scheduled

Monday, April 13

  • Water crews will be working at Olive Street beginning at 7 p.m.

Long-Term Closures

Access to and from Oakland Avenue from the east is closed until mid-summer at:

  • Kenmore Place
  • Jarvis Street
  • Wood Place
  • Olive Street
  • Marion Street
  • Lake Bluff Boulevard
  • Kensington Boulevard
  • Glendale Avenue
